Dear Friends, Family, and Neighbors,
In the words of the immortal UFW Organizer Jessie de la Cruz "La esperanza muere ultima."
Here at Ride 4A Reason we live by those words - to spread hope through our support of enrichment programs for the incredible young people attending ten wonderful public schools in Oakland and one in Alameda.
All the schools we serve, are Title I, where 40 percent-or-more of student qualify for free- or reduced-price lunches. At five of our schools, 90 percent-or-more of students qualify.
Working together 300+ strong, I am proud to be riding my bike110-miles to Sacramento to raise funds that support social-emotional health, curiosity, and growth of the 6,000+ students that attend an R4R school.
In past years, some of the programs we have supported have included a whitewater rafting trip on the South Fork of the American River, a bike touring trip along the Central California Coast, an after-school soccer club (at a school where students peak twenty-one different languages), and a restorative justice program!
Please help to fuel our work by maing a generous donation today! Thank you so much. Working together we will make it better.
Much love,
Mike Napolitano
