As a proud product of Oakland schools, I'm hopping on my bike this April to join Ride 4A Reason - an annual fundraiser and bike ride to Sacramento supporting teachers and students of Oakland and Alameda. Last year, thanks to riders and supporters, more than 6,000 kids experienced field trips, library visits, river rafting, and wore official team uniforms - many for the first time. Having walked these same hallways, I feel a deep personal connection to these schools that shaped who I am today.
My goal is to raise $1,000 by April 26th - can you donate today to help me get there? 100% of funds go directly to these public schools in Oakland and Alameda. COVID-19 highlighted the glaring inequities in our education system, and with pandemic funding now expired, the challenges are greater than ever.
