Joey is the happiest 1 year old, and such a bright light in the lives of so many. Joey loves his Mommy and Daddy, eating everything he can get his hands on, climbing, and exploring around the house.
In May of 2021, just weeks before his first birthday, Joey’s family received devastating news. An MRI revealed a brain tumor. Joey had brain surgery to remove the tumor, and one week later it was confirmed that he had cancer, medulloblastoma, and would be needing further treatment. Since that day, Joey has gone through an intense chemotherapy protocol and triple stem cell transplant at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). Throughout treatment Joey has amazed everyone with his strength, resilience, and his happy disposition. Thanks to his diligent doctors, dedicated parents, and the special services at CHOP, Joey continues to thrive, grow, and learn despite receiving six rounds of high dose chemotherapy and spending close to 100 days in the hospital. While his inpatient treatment concludes in December, Joey will have weekly clinic visits to monitor his recovery. He will also have MRIs for many years to ensure that the cancer doesn’t come back and there are also several long term side effects of chemotherapy at such a young age, but Joey’s family is committed to doing everything that they can to fight and BEAT this disease.
About Infinite Love
Infinite Love is a 100% volunteer-run 501c3 nonprofit foundation with the dual missions of 1) funding new pediatric cancer research (click here for an itemized list of what we've already funded), and 2) providing financial and emotional support to families currently fighting childhood cancer. Because there are no Infinite Love salaries, everything that you give goes entirely to our cause! Thanks to generous supporters like you, since 2013 we have funded over $1.3 million in research grants to some of our country's leading research hospitals and facilities and we've written thousands of dollars of support checks to childhood cancer families, given backyard makeovers, sent kids to sports events, built dream tree houses and we’ve unfortunately even covered the expenses for memorials.
Please note that this Team Joey page is raising funds for Infinite Love for Kids Fighting Cancer where 100% of the proceeds will be used to fund research and to help families affected by childhood cancer. This fundraising page is not raising funds for Joey's family directly.
