Our mission is to build Girl Scouts of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place. Founded nationally in 1912 and locally in 1928, Girl Scouts of the USA is the largest girl-led leadership organization in the world. Girl Scouts of Western Washington (GSWW) was formed in 1965 through the merger of two pre-existing councils. GSWW operates three regional program centers, three retail stores, and six camp properties across the 17 counties that make up western Washington State. We serve approximately16,000 youth members in grades K-12, and 7,000 adult volunteers.
We offer a wide array of services and programs designed to empower Girl Scouts, fostering their personal growth, leadership skills, and sense of community engagement. Through a variety of programs and activities such as outdoor adventures, experiential STEM opportunities, community service initiatives, and entrepreneurial mindset development, we provide a supportive environment where Girl Scouts can explore their interests, build confidence, and develop important life skills. Our tested curricula and strategic priorities have evolved over the years, assuring they remain viable and relevant in the 21st century and beyond.
