Hello! My name is Elizabeth Vlieg, and I am doing this fundraiser in memory of my Grandpa Vlieg. My grandpa was a very active man who loved traveling, but was diagnosed with ALS in 2023 after a bout of sepsis. He worked hard to maintain function until his passing where went to be with the Lord on April 10, 2025. As a physical therapist, I also think of the patients I have seen over the years of my study and into my career that talked about losing function and had the goal of maintenance. My dream would be that ALS patients can have the goal of rehabilitation again. Please consider donating to my campaign to support an organization that served my grandpa and many families living with ALS. I will be updating my social medias about my training rides if you would like to donate per mile ridden and hold me accountable. My goal is to ride at least 250 miles by race day. Thank you!
PedALS is Susan Mast ALS Foundation’s signature fundraising event. PedALS is a bike, run, walk and roll event attracting more than 500 cyclists, walkers, runners and rollers who come on one day for one cause. This year, our goal is to raise $200,000.
Your support will assist in reaching our goal so we can provide assistance to all West Michigan ALS families. The funds raised at this event provides medical equipment, meals, respite care, home visits and other critical programs to ALS families.
