Hello Friends!
On Saturday, June 21, I will be biking in the 2025 RATPOD, a one-day cycling event that raises money for Camp Mak-A-Dream where cancer survivors and their families find support and make connections. I have participated in RATPOD a few times (4 including this year) and it is not an easy ride. For one, the weather in Dillon, Montana is not good at cooperating, and secondly, riding 90 miles on a bumpy gravel route will be a challenge requiring long hours in the saddle. I was unable to ride in 2024 due to back surgery but I am at it again and able to spend more time on the bike each day as my back heals.
Two years ago our family lost my beautiful sister-in-law Laurel Grady to cancer. Laurel found out about her cancer diagnosis on the weekend of the RUT, a 28K intense, mountain endurance race. She stood strong, competed in the RUT for the second time, and was so very proud of her accomplishment. She went on to a five year battle with cancer laced with good years and bad but sadly, cancer won. Friends and family rallied around Laurel to keep her positive.
I am sure many of you have friends and/or family affected by cancer. By participating in RATPOD2025 , we make Camp Mak-A-Dream possible and help cancer survivors and their families navigate life with resilience. Cancer is a relentless journey but together, we have the power to instill hope and dreams in the lives of those affected.
Camp Mak-A-Dream builds hope, and provides a safe and supportive space for cancer survivors in the breathtaking landscapes of Montana. For over two decades, RATPOD has been the driving force behind Camp Mak-A-Dream's success, making it the largest fundraising event for this extraordinary cause. Your gift to RATPOD really makes a tremendous difference! You can donate online HERE or send your gift to:
