At the heart of this story is Angela Garrett, whose leadership, grit, and deep-rooted values were shaped by one of her greatest heroes—her father, Ben Perez. A decorated Black Hawk Pilot, Ben served with the 2-3 Aviation Regiment and was deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom III. His courage and commitment to protecting our nation have left a lasting mark, not only on the battlefield but also within the hearts of those who know him best.

Angela remembers the long stretches of deployment, the pride of watching her father serve with honor, and the weight of sacrifice that military families carry. Now, alongside her husband, Tyler, and in memory of the many who have served and continue to serve, Team Garrett runs to ensure their bravery is never forgotten.

This run is more than miles—it's a movement. One that recognizes the heroes of September 11th, the brave men and women who answered the call in the years that followed, and those like Ben Perez, whose service continues to inspire new generations of leaders, patriots, and proud Americans.
