Working in a shelter is deeply rewarding, but it also carries a quiet sadness. Each day, I meet new souls searching for a safe place to land—and here, we strive to be that place. Through the work of THS, so many animals are given a second chance at life—one filled with love, comfort, and the promise of a forever home.

This shelter has changed my life as much as it has theirs. It’s where Madonna found her way into my heart, and where I’ve had the privilege of fostering animals in need of extra care. Watching those I’ve nurtured—both dogs and cats—go on to find their families is an indescribably special experience.

For every joyful adoption, there are also those we cannot save. In those moments, we offer what we can: gentle hands, kind voices, and compassion. We make sure they are not alone, that they are surrounded by warmth and care in their final moments. No matter how they arrived—through cruelty, abandonment, or surrender—they find comfort here.

I am incredibly proud to be part of this mission, to stand alongside a team dedicated to giving animals the lives they deserve.
