12/31/2008 my late husband and I were sitting in the doctors office hearing him tell us Al had Primary Liver cancer.   The room literally started spinning for me.  We vowed to make the most of our time left and live as normal as possible.   October 2009 I had to hear those words from a doctor “it’s lung cancer with spots on his liver.    We lost him three weeks later.   My husband passed 12/29/2009 only a couple months after my Dad.   I found myself sitting in the doctors office January 2013 hearing “it’s uterine cancer”.  I had surgery and treatments that year and vowed to get healthy.   September 2015 I had to hear the words about my Mom and at this time my brother was fighting for his life with lymphoma/ leukemia.   My Mom lost her fight a few months later.   My brother fought hard and eventually had a stem cell transplant that saved his life.  So you see cancer came knocking and over stayed it’s welcome!   I vowed to ride the ACS bike a thon one day.   My first one I celebrated my 5 year cancer free anniversary and decided this is the year.  I have road every one since!   I have lost many friends and family to cancer.   I ride for all of them.  I hope one day to ride in a cancer free world.
