This one is for my Dad.

In December 2022, my Dad ended his battle with pancreatic cancer. It was hard. It was ugly. But he stayed in the fight for as long as he possibly could. I like to think he was able to last a little longer than expected because he felt so much love from my family and it kept him going. He loved us all fiercely to the end.

He was proud of my riding (at the time it was still all indoors on my Peloton, I hadn't ventured out on the roads yet). But he was always telling me to keep it up. "Don't overdo it, but keep it up!" He said he felt bad because I "would have been a hell of a ballplayer but [back then] he didn't think girls should play sports" lol. But when we were little, he always played whiffle ball with us outside, and frequently reminded me of the time I hit the ball over the garage. (It seemed really far at the time!)

But I digress. 

This June I will be riding the ACS ride in his honor. Every pedal stroke will be for him.
