On Sunday June 7th we're joining with friends, family and 1500 others to ride our bikes from the Ben Franklin bridge in Philadelphia to the Jersey shore in Atlantic City. I ask you to join us - in spirit and in raising funds for Cancer research that will save lives and make a lasting difference for good.
Fighting cancer is not an abstract idea. I expect that every one of us has a personal experience with this disease and my ever-grieving heart goes out to you. Sadly, my wonderful life companion of nearly forty years, Jacqueline Betancourt Jones died in 2020 from Multiple Myeloma, a blood cancer. How we miss her and wish she could be here with us, laughing and playing with our three granddaughters. In jest, or not, she was the OGreatQueen and namesake for our team - but each of us are riding with hopeful hearts for special friends and family dealing with their own cancer fight right now.
New treatments with better outcomes leading to longer lives are underway and making a difference! They require grit, inspiration and continued funding from all of us.
