I am back for my second 80-Mile LOWVELO ride because cancer has touched my family in ways I wish it never had to.
I’ve had many family members affected by cancer, but two losses have stayed with me in a way I’ll never forget—losing my younger cousin Jessica Hirth and my uncle Todd Roshkowski. They were both far too young to have their lives taken from them and are deeply missed.
Jessica was insanely bright, talented and sweet. Todd was a gifted athlete who could make an entire room laugh. I was never able to meet him, but I have been told we were very similar and that makes me proud to have Todd as my middle name.
I ride in their memory.
