I am excited to announce my participation in the O'Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center at UAB's 2019 Lace Up for a Cure Walk. My hope for this event is to raise funds for the Cancer Center and bring our community together in the fight to end cancer.
It is rare to find someone whose life has not been affected by cancer. At the O'Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center at UAB, scientists and physicians are focused on one vision – to eliminate cancer as a major public health problem. The UAB Cancer Center one of only 49 National Cancer Institute-designated cancer centers in the country, with a mission is to provide the highest quality of care for people diagnosed with cancer, while advancing the possibilities for prevention, detection, treatment and survivorship.
