Dear family and friends,
We are once again reaching out to ask for your support. We will be participating in the “One Walk, Great Strides for Autism” fundraiser on April 19th. All proceeds go to support the Autism Society of Wisconsin, which has been helping us and our kids for 26 years now, ever since we moved to Madison. And we are proud that Catherine has been working for the Autism Society since June 2018.
As some of you know, there have been some changes to the Autism Societies in Wisconsin this year. We merged the Autism Societies in Wisconsin this January to be the Autism Society of Wisconsin, to pinch more pennies and better serve people throughout the state. Catherine’s the systems manager for ASW, as well as one of two resource navigators, helping people one-on-one to access resources for themselves and their families. Here’s more information about the merger.
In these uncertain times, with many government services for autistic people and their families under threat, families are relying upon the Autism Society more than ever. Donations are the primary source of funding for the Autism Society, but many people are unable or unwilling to donate because of the current economic difficulties and the significant possibility of an impending economic recession. This walk is the primary fundraiser for the Autism Society for the year. We are therefore especially grateful this year for any help you can provide by donating through our team, Team Dragon.
