This October I have teamed up with my sister and mom to ride 1500 miles in 31 days. Teams are allowed up to 10 people, but we are doing it with just three people... and my goal is to ride 1000 miles of our team's goal. Riding 1000 miles in a month isn't that big of a deal by itself, but add in work and normal life stuff and it will be a challenge. But it is still nothing compared to fighting cancer and working that into your everyday life!
2020 forced nearly every cycling, running, and triathlon event to cancel. (I personally had at least seven events canceled!) Not only did that suck because I like to race, it really hit charities hard that depend on these events to raise crucial funds. For the first time in history, the American Cancer Society is in danger of not being able to fund their research.
I am asking for a penny per mile. At 1000 miles, that works out to only $10. And, I promise you that if I fail to ride all 1000 miles, I will give you your change back!
Please help me out-- it's for a great cause. ACS's research is what helped my sister survive breast cancer, and for that I am forever grateful. :)
AND-- if you would rather ride yourself rather than donate to my team, that would make me even happier! You know I want everyone to ride bikes and ride them often! Need to buy or borrow a bike or an indoor trainer to complete this challenge? Just ask me! It's only $35 to register and 150 miles for a solo effort-- that's only 5 miles a day!
