I AM TOUGH RUCKING FOR AMERICA’S FALLEN MILITARY & FIRST RESPONDERS
This April, I will proudly join Tough Ruck Nation to complete a full marathon with a weighted rucksack as part of Tough Ruck 26.2 Boston—an elite group of 1,000 ruckers who step forward to HONOR AMERICA’S FALLEN MILITARY & FIRST RESPONDERS. We carry their names on our rucks so that they will NEVER BE FORGOTTEN, and we raise funds to support the Warriors and families who continue to sacrifice for our nation.
As a MS1/Freshman Cadet in MIT Army ROTC’s Paul Revere Battalion and a Harvard student, this event holds special meaning for me. Training in the Boston/Cambridge community, it is an honor to be part of a tradition connected to the Boston Marathon, one of the most iconic events in the world and a deeply meaningful symbol of resilience. As someone who plans to pursue a career as an Army Infantry Officer, supporting this cause aligns directly with the values and service I hope to embody.
Your tax-deductible donation directly supports the Military Friends Foundation, providing a lifeline to Warriors and families in moments of hardship. Your support doesn’t just sponsor my ruck—it honors the fallen and strengthens those still serving.
The origins of Tough Ruck carry deep significance. On April 15, 2013, Tough Ruckers were at the Boston Marathon finish line and immediately aided first responders after the tragic bombings. Their actions reflected the very best of our nation—courage, service, and selfless commitment. Tough Ruck remains the only ruck march partnered with the Boston Marathon, and finishers earn the official Boston Marathon Medal and recognition from the Boston Athletic Association.
I’m grateful for the opportunity to challenge myself physically and mentally while carrying forward this mission of remembrance and support. Thank you for helping me honor those who have served—and those who gave everything.
Ruck strong. Remember always. Support our Warriors.
