ARE YOU UP FOR THE CHALLENGE?
The Giro di San Diego GranFondo is not an easy day on the bike—and that’s part of what makes finishing it so rewarding.

Choose the distance that fits your goals, ride some of San Diego County’s beautiful backcountry roads, and challenge yourself on a fully supported cycling event.

Whether your goal is conquering Mt. Palomar, taking on a challenging shorter route, or simply pushing yourself farther than you have before, there’s a Giro challenge for you.

CHOOSE YOUR CHALLENGE 🚴

95-Mile GranFondo
Our Version of a Century Ride
Want the big challenge? This is it.

At 95 miles, our GranFondo gives you nearly a full century of riding while taking on one of Southern California’s best-known cycling challenges: Mt. Palomar.

Expect a demanding day of climbing, descending, and riding through the San Diego County backcountry.

The GranFondo features a mass start and a timed route, including a separately timed Mt. Palomar KOM/QOM climbing segment.

If climbing Mt. Palomar has been sitting on your cycling bucket list, this is your opportunity to take it on.

56-Mile Metric Century
Mt. Palomar Without the 95 Miles
Don’t let the shorter mileage fool you.

The 56-mile Metric Century also climbs Mt. Palomar, giving riders the opportunity to take on the signature Giro challenge without committing to the full 95-mile GranFondo.

You’ll still get serious climbing, beautiful backcountry roads and the satisfaction of conquering Palomar.

The Mt. Palomar climb is timed for the KOM/QOM competition, so riders who want an extra challenge can see how they stack up on the mountain.

32-Mile Route
A Shorter Giro Challenge
Looking for a shorter day on the bike?

The 32-mile route still gives you a challenging Giro experience with San Diego County scenery, climbing and full event support without taking on Mt. Palomar or the longer distances.

Enjoy the stocked rest stops, mechanical and SAG support, included lunch, massage and finish-line celebration.

20-Mile Route
Your Introduction to the Giro
The shortest Giro option is a great choice for newer cyclists, riders building toward longer distances, or anyone who wants to be part of Giro day without spending most of the day in the saddle.

Twenty miles may be our shortest route, but it’s still a ride—and still an accomplishment.

THE MT. PALOMAR CHALLENGE ⛰️
Mt. Palomar is one of Southern California’s most recognized cycling climbs.

It’s long.

It’s difficult.

And reaching the top is something you’ll remember.

Both the 95-mile GranFondo and 56-mile Metric Century take riders up Mt. Palomar.

The Mt. Palomar climb is separately timed for KOM/QOM, giving riders who want to push themselves an additional challenge.

It’s about the challenge, your time, and the satisfaction of seeing what you can do on the mountain.

A LOT IS INCLUDED WITH YOUR ENTRY
A difficult ride is a lot more enjoyable when you know there’s support along the way.

Your Giro registration includes:

🍽️ Post-Ride Lunch
Lunch is included with your registration, with regular, vegan and gluten-free options available.

💆 Finish-Line Massage
You did the riding. Let someone else do some of the work afterward. Post-ride massage is included for participants at the finish.

🥪 Fully Stocked Rest Stops
Stop, refuel, refill your bottles and get ready for the next section of your ride.

🔧 Mechanical Support
Mechanical support is available to help riders with common bike issues along the way.

🚐 SAG Support
SAG vehicles will be on course to assist riders when needed.

⏱️ Timed Routes
Your ride is timed, so you can see your results and track your accomplishment.

🏅 Finisher Medal
Finish your Giro challenge and take home a medal commemorating your ride.

FINISH. EAT. RECOVER. CELEBRATE. 🍻
Once you cross the finish line, your day isn’t over.

Grab your included lunch, give your legs some attention with an included post-ride massage, and spend some time celebrating with your fellow cyclists.

The finish area will also feature a Beer Garden benefiting the Life Sports Foundation, supporting its mission of creating A Better Life Through Sports.

THE GIRO IS A CHALLENGE
We’re not going to pretend this is an easy ride.

There will be climbing.

Your legs will know you rode.

And if you choose the 95-mile GranFondo or 56-mile Metric Century, Mt. Palomar will be waiting for you.

But you’ll also have stocked rest stops, mechanical support, SAG support, lunch, massage and a finish-line celebration helping you through the day.

ARE YOU UP FOR THE CHALLENGE?
Choose your distance. Start training. Take on the Giro di San Diego.

I especially like “95-Mile GranFondo — Our Version of a Century Ride” and “56-Mile Metric Century — Mt. Palomar Without the 95 Miles.” They make the difference between the two Palomar routes immediately clear to someone deciding which registration option to choose.
