Join us virtually as we make history in our First Run Hike Ride to benefit  the Santa Rosa Plateau Nature Education Foundation (SRPNEF)

Run, Hike, or Ride through the beautiful hills of the Santa Rosa Plateau while enjoying the winding oak lined trails and unique grasslands! The Santa Rosa Plateau's Run, Hike, Ride fundraising event offers a 5K and 10K for runners, hikers, and riders. With 30 days to complete the courses, participants can design their own courses anywhere, anytime or at designated course areas on the Santa Rosa Plateau located in the painted hills of Murrieta. The optional 5K and 10K routes on the Santa Rosa Plateau will be provided at registration; the provided courses will wind through the historic and beautiful hills of the Sylvan Meadows trail system on the Santa Rosa Plateau.  

This virtual event kicks off on Thursday, March 18, 2021 and concludes on Sunday, April 18, 2021.  Register online today and until March 5th, 2021 to take advantage of the reduced registration fee. All participants will receive a t-shirt, bib number and medal by mail or at the pick-up site April 17th and 18th at the Sylvan Meadows trailhead. Times will be announced on our Facebook event page and by email. If you sign up to become a member of the SRPNEF you'll also receive a limited-edition member decal and $10 off your race price. The Santa Rosa Plateau Nature Education Foundation (SRPNEF) is a non-profit, formed in 2003, with the goal to help guide our young citizens towards a life of environmental stewardship.  The Mission:  To educate and empower youth to appreciate, preserve and protect nature.  SRPNEF provides programs, funding, and support of nature education in our schools and the community. The mission is supported by special events, grants, and membership.  Members receive discounts for all SRPNEF events. The Santa Rosa Plateau is a uniquely stunning ecological preserve that offers an intricate trail system and show cases the natural beauty that is right here in our backyards. Let’s come together virtually to support the SRPNEF as they continue to instill environment stewardship in an effort preserve the plateau for generations to come.

  • For our inaugural RHR on the plateau we are offering a virtual 5K and 10K  where you can Run, Hike or Ride anywhere or anytime during the Santa Rosa Plateau run time window (March 18 - April 18). Upload your times and distances on this website or our Facebook page, and see how you stack up against your community and friends!
  • Don't forget to take lots of pictures and post them to our Facebook or tag us on Instagram! We will be announcing themed picture contests as we approach our race date.
  • Participants have 30 days to complete the courses as marked or design your own course in your own neighborhood or even in the comfort of your own home on a treadmill.  
  • We also have a Family Hike Event that includes a Kid's Passport Through the Plateau activity guide that will focus on helping your little ones learn in a fun and immersive way as they explore the hidden gems that the plateau has to offer. (With at least one paying adult children 12 & under are free)
