The Heart of our Ride is our Volunteers
Cycle For Hope couldn't be possible without the leadership of our Cycle for Hope Committee and the 100s of volunteers that make a spectacular fall ride through the beautiful Temecula wine country and surrounding area a day to remember.
The success of this event can only be made possible with the support of amazing volunteers like yourself. Cycle for Hope is a great way for your students to get community service hours, for your team, club, community group or ANY group or business to get involved and volunteer together. We have many areas of the race that are perfect for groups from 5 or more to volunteer together.
Look through the opportunities below to find ways to get involved, and sign up where you would like to volunteer your precious time! Volunteers are the heart of this Ride and last years ride would not have been as wonderful without the 100+ Volunteers who made it happen.
Ride Crew Volunteers
Business Owners, Educators and Non Profit Organizers lead the stations along the routes and TVUSD Students and Business Employees directed riders, cheered them on, passed out waters, and encouraged riders along the way! Cycle for Hope is again looking for Station Leads and Student Volunteers for the 30 Stations along the routes. All Students receive Community Service Hours! Please consider signing up and spreading the word to help us fill every volunteer opportunity!
The Course Map has the Stations where we need Volunteers to encourage our riders and keep them safe!
We need ONE Lead for each Station. This Lead should be 18 and older. Volunteers should be High School Students and older.
RIDE CREW VOLUNTEER SIGN UP
Volunteers along the route will be asked to:
ARRIVAL
- Arrive on time to your station
- Park in a safe place or be dropped off
- Give your Liability Waiver to your Lead.
- Put on a Safety Vest
SAFETY
- Caution bike riders of high speeds going downhill.
- Warn of sharp turns
- Cross traffic alert
- Press crosswalk button
SUPPORT
- Encourage and cheer on riders
- Assist with Directions when needed
- Provide water or snacks when available
DEPARTURE
- Remain at your station until the Lead releases you
- Have your Lead sign off on your Community Service Hours
- Return your Safety Vest
- Join us at the Celebration event at the Village
Support Crew Volunteers
Many hands lighten the load. In order for the Ride to go off without a hitch we need a RIDE DAY READY CREW to help set up the Start/Finish Village. Easy ups, Tables, Check In station, Parking Areas, Signage all need to be ready before the riders arrive. We need volunteers to help direct traffic, answer questions and just support our eager riders before they hit the road! We also need a COURSE CREW to map out the course the morning of the race and drop off signage, tables and waters at stations along the route!
