Your registration fee makes it possible to bring together a community of athletes, donors, volunteers, and sponsors to support for Habitat for Humanity East Bay/Silicon Valley’s mission to build homes, communities, and hope. While your registration fee is not tax-deductible, donations and sponsorships for Cycle of Hope are. Plus, for the first 500 riders to register, Habitat will get an automatic $100 donation from Bob & Barbara Frick and Friends of Cycle of Hope.

Yes, e-bikes are allowed. Please follow all road rules, including speed limits.
Some cycling shops have bike rentals. Sports Basement and Campus Bike Shop, for instance, have a range of rental options available Hopping on a rental from a local bike shop can be a great way to join us for the big day on October 23rd, even if you don’t have wheels of your own. Plus, many local rental and demo programs offer the option to put your fee toward the purchase of your ride if you love it enough for a long-term commitment!
We’ll be taking on-course and finisher photos at the in-person ride on October 23rd, which we will share out post-ride. If you’re a Virtual DIY athlete, we’d love to see your photos! Post them to social media, and be sure to tag @HabitatCycleOfHope and use hashtag #TogetherWeRide. You can also upload your own photos when you submit your virtual results to Run Signup, and take a look at community photos!
Should the in-person event be canceled for a reason out of the control of the organizers, participants will have three options:
The Virtual DIY allows you to set your own distance goal, and meet it however you like – whether it’s on a bike, a stationary trainer, on foot, by kayak, you name it! You could work toward your goal distance across multiple sessions, or even through multiple methods! You’ve just got to meet that goal during the ride window of October 1st through 23rd, and submit your results through your Run Signup Profile. Our Virtual DIY athletes may be joining us from a distance, but you can still expect an athlete packet, t-shirt, medal, and chance to win prizes for fundraising and referring your friends!
You sure can! If you're participating on your at-home trainer, you should sign up for the Virtual DIY option. You'll get great swag, be eligible to earn even more great goodies by fundraising or referring more participants, be invited to the Virtual Finish Line Celebration, and – most of all – help Habitat build a world where everyone has a decent place to live.
Once the ride period opens on October 1st, you'll be able to set your goal and submit your activities by going to the Results section of your Profile page! During the virtual ride window of October 1st - 23rd, you'll see the option here to "Submit Virtual Results. There, you can set your personal goal, and submit one or more activities and finish times that you complete to meet that goal!
For Virtual DIY athletes, the cost of mailing your packet is included in your registration! If you register before Wednesday, October 12th, you’ll have your packet in time to sport your gear at the Virtual Finish Line Celebration on the 23rd. Athletes who register after October 12th will receive their packets post-ride.
Habitat is driven by community, and so are many of our athletes! When you’re part of a team, you might be united in spirit, going for a bigger fundraising goal together, riding as a group, or all of the above! However you join forces, your team can make for more fun on ride day and more support for Habitat. Learn how to create or join a team by watching this tutorial.

Your fundraising page is the perfect way to make your miles go even further for the mission. To find your link, visit your Profile, scroll down to the Fundraising section, and there you'll find your registration for Cycle of Hope. Right under your name and registration summary, you can see a link to your fundraising page.
