Cogs & Kegs Virtual Cycling Challenge

Mon June 1 - Tue June 30

Place

Virtual Event - Location is where you are!

Description

This June during Men’s Health Month, Cogs and Kegs celebrates its fifth year of raising awareness for men’s health related issues recognizing First Responders and the increased health risks their careers impose.

Due to the Covid-19 global pandemic, we are not able to gather at Griffin Claw for a group ride.  We have created, instead, a Virtual Cycling Challenge to last the entire month!

Your initial $20 registration and first 20 miles you ride will help one man in our community get crucial health screenings at the Men's Health Event this fall. Each additional 20 miles and $20 donation (purchased as an "add-on" to your registration at any time) will climb you higher up the leader board along with funding another man to get life-saving health screenings!

In partnership with Griffin Claw Brewing Company and Powers Distributing, when you sign up for our Cogs & Kegs virtual event, you will receive a gift card from Griffin Claw!

You can cycle on your own or cycle 6 feet away from friends and family to abide by the social distancing rules from Covid-19. You can also cycle indoors and log miles on your stationary bike, Peloton or Echelon.

The Men's Health Event is an annual event put on by MIU Men's Health Foundation, a 501(c)3 dedicated to men's health advocacy and awareness, education, research and treatment of prostate cancer and men's health related issues.

Our annual Men’s Health Event provides comprehensive health screenings valued over $2,000 and health education for those most in need, and will be more important in 2020 than ever. For many attendees, it will be their only healthcare throughout the year. It is critical that our programs continue, as our additional services for mental health and financial health through job fair opportunities address men’s health in its entirety. By removing some of the socioeconomic barriers, we will in turn be able to improve health disparities.

Please join us! How many miles can you ride? How many men will you help? #FundAMan #SaveALife
