Event Description
October 1-7 is Stormwater Awareness Week in Ohio, an effort to raise awareness about how stormwater pollution affects our land, water, and farms, and what steps we can take to prevent it. Clean stormwater helps protect our streams, drinking water, and the health of Ohio’s natural resources.
All proceeds from this event will benefit Friends of the Lower Olentangy Watershed (FLOW), a 501(c)(3) volunteer-based nonprofit established in 1997 with a mission to keep the Olentangy River and its tributaries clean and safe for all to enjoy, through public education, volunteer activities, and coordination with local decision-makers.
Your participation (and donation) helps us continue our conservation work, including tree plantings, invasive species removal, stream quality monitoring by citizen scientists, pollinator garden planting/maintenance, and litter cleanup efforts (481 tires collected for recycling, plus over 6,000 lbs. of trash removed from the watershed in 2025 alone!) FLOW also runs 3 volunteer-run tree nurseries where we grow over 2,500 native trees and bushes to use in our restoration efforts, and to make available in our fall free tree giveaway to residents of the watershed.
