Event Description

North Texas Safe Cycling Summit
Community Bike Swap/Garage Sale, Vendor Expo & Route Mapping Collaboration

Date: Saturday, September 19, 2026 Location: 35 & Liberty, Gainesville, TX Admission: Free to attend (Donations strongly encouraged)

The Core Mission: More Riders on Safer Routes, Right Now
Our ultimate goal is simple: get more people riding bikes.

The biggest barrier keeping cycling from growing is the lack of safe infrastructure. Instead of waiting on years of political back-and-forth or millions of dollars in public funding, we are taking action today.

The Safe Cycling Initiative: A Practical Infrastructure Project is dedicated to providing riders and potential riders with the safest viable routes that are available right now. We believe that by mapping and sharing safe, point-to-point routes, we can create real change:

Demonstrate Viability: Show potential and new riders that safe cycling is an accessible option in their community today.
Increase Visibility: Get more cyclists on the road, increasing driver awareness and fostering mutual respect.
Create a Cascade Effect: Organically prove the usage and need for permanent, dedicated infrastructure along key corridors.
About the Summit
To make this mission a reality, we need the collective knowledge of the local cycling community.

This summit is a massive gathering designed to bring together casual riders, seasoned athletes, daily commuters, and regional cycling organizations. We want to use this meetup to collaboratively define:

Route Creation: The exact mechanisms and criteria for how we identify and verify the safest existing routes.
Distribution: How we get these routes into the hands of the public easily and effectively.
Future Development: How we pool community input to prioritize which regional routes need to be developed next.
Event Highlights
Beyond the route development discussions, this is a celebration of the regional cycling community!

Club & Organization Networking: We are calling on every cycling group and advocacy organization in the region to set up, share your stories, and recruit members.
Community Bike Swap & Garage Sale: Clear out your workshop or find your next dream build! Open to the general public, shops, and commercial sellers.
Vendor Expo & Demos: Check out gear, bikes, and tech from cycling brands and local shops.
Registration & Signup Options
General admission and participation are 100% free, but we ask that all attendees, sellers, vendors, and clubs RSVP so we can properly map out the space at 35 & Liberty.

The Safe Cycling Initiative: A Practical Infrastructure Project.

Our Core Mission: The Safe Cycling Initiative is dedicated to building safe, practical, town-to-town cycling networks today. Rather than waiting for massive municipal funding or delayed infrastructure overhauls, we are utilizing existing assets to connect communities right now.

In rural areas, we leverage low-traffic, unpaved "Adventure Routes" to safely bypass motorized congestion and drive local economic impact.
In urban and suburban environments, we actively link existing, viable cycling infrastructure to create highly usable, point-to-point transit corridors.

Together, these immediate solutions provide safe passage now while laying the groundwork and building the community buy-in necessary for future infrastructure development.

To put this into action, I am currently recruiting advocacy groups, clubs, organizations, and local businesses for the North Texas Cycling Safety Summit (alongside a Community Bike Swap and Vendor Expo). We are hosting this at 35 & Liberty in Gainesville, TX, on September 19th. The goal is to gather as many cycling disciplines as possible under one roof to coordinate viable and meaningful strategies for addressing our most critical issues.

Note: Please consider making a voluntary donation during checkout. All donations directly fund the hands-on creation, mapping, and distribution of routes for The Safe Cycling Initiative.
