100 Mile Century Route
The 100 mile century route was first used in 2022. The route is AWESOME and riders loved it, so we are keeping it for 2023. This newer route is fresh and takes riders into former gravel territory south of Purcellville, into Lincoln and close to Philomont, and then back north of Purcellville to Hillsboro and Hamilton. The ride will start and finish in Reston, VA, measures exactly 100.3 miles, includes 4755' of elevation gain, 36.7 miles on W&OD, 24.8 on suburban streets, and 38.8 miles on rural roads. This ride has plenty of variety as riders start amidst subdivisions and strip malls of Fairfax County’s suburbia, then ride along serene country roads of rural Loudoun County, through the city streets of the Town of Leesburg, and then cruise back to Reston via the mellow W&OD rail trail. In order, the full century travels through the towns of Reston, Herndon, Ashburn, Leesburg, Hamilton, Purcellville, Lincoln, Philomont, Purcellville, Hillsboro, Hamilton, Leesburg, Ashburn, Herndon, and returns to Reston.
