Join us for the adventure portion of the inaugural #LIVELIKESCOTT: Weekend of Creativity and Fun, in memory of Scott Godon-Decoteau. The Run, Ride, & Rally event on Saturday will be hosted at the charming Westfield River Brewing Company. The party starts at 11:00am and lasts all day long!
Scott loved being active and pushing himself to the max. Choose one of the three main events to #LIVELIKESCOTT and challenge yourself too! Register soon to lock in a tee-shirt and the discounted rate. All main event registrations come with a free beer! Oh, hey--let’s not forget that much of Scott’s passion and life revolved around children and family. In addition to the main events above, we will also have a free race for the kiddos!
PS: If you’re not up for a ride or run, you can still join in the fun! Delicious adult beverages and food trucks will begin serving at 11:00am and there will be live music around 1:00pm. The gathering lasts as long as people want. GET PSYCHED!
1) #RideLikeSCOTT Grab your road bikes for a 35-mile bike ride through the beautiful hills of western Massachusetts. Scott sought out hills-- the steeper the better--so this group ride includes 3,000 feet of climbing! $40 pre-registration comes with a tee-shirt and one free beer ticket.
2) #BikeLikeSCOTT Get your cycling gear out for a 5-mile or 10-mile ride on the Southwick Rail Trail (bike path). Not everyone can be at Scott’s level on the bike (umm 100+ miles, what?!). If it’s been awhile, then get amped up for this ride! $25 pre-registration comes with a tee-shirt and one free beer ticket.
3) #RunLikeSCOTT (or walk) Lace up your sneakers for this scenic on-road and off-road 5K around the farms and hills surrounding the brewery. Scott thought running on the road was boring, so he looked for off-road opportunities whenever possible! $25 pre-registration comes with a tee-shirt and one free beer ticket.
4) #BeAKidLikeSCOTT This less-than-1-mile fun race is for children 12 years and under (caregivers are welcome too). Kiddos can use any method of transport—run, walk, bike ride, crab walk, etc.! This event is free and comes with a small prize (but sorry kids, no free beer).
Scott's loved ones are in the process of creating the W. Scott Godon-Decoteau Foundation (www.livelikescott.com). Scott had a powerful impact on so many of our lives, so we hope the W. Scott Godon-Decoteau Foundation will continue to expand his positive reach. All proceeds from the Run, Ride, & Rally event will be used to fund the foundation.
About the weekend: Scott Godon-Decoteau was passionate about art, adventure, and community. About Scott: Scott Godon-Decoteau died young, but he lived more during his 41 years than most people do in a lifetime. Scott sought out new experiences. He pushed people to be their best and helped them get through tough situations. Scott supported and inspired people to pursue their dreams. He sought to make change in the face of injustice. Scott somehow made the best of times better with his fun-loving attitude. He even helped us get to know ourselves a little more. #LIVELIKESCOTT #LOVELIKESCOTT
