Description
The sporty and stylish town of Ridgeland is Mississippi’s premier cycling destination, attracting serious athletes and casual peddlers alike. Recognized as the state’s best waterfront destination, Ridgeland is just north of the Mississippi capital of Jackson and located on the Natchez Trace Parkway, a 444-mile scenic road following the historic travel corridor used by American Indians, settlers, slave traders, soldiers and future presidents. Each of the FCCUSA routes utilizes a part of the parkway, known as one of the best cycling roadways in the U.S. since it’s closed to commercial traffic and under a strictly-enforced speed limit. All event activities take place at Old Trace Park on the Ross Barnett Reservoir, a haven for boaters, kayakers, skiers, anglers, paddle boarders, picnickers and birdwatchers.
