Virtual race window: March 1-28, 2021

Yá'át'ééh riders!  Welcome to the Beclabito Bike Race!

REGISTRATION – Online registration for the virtual race is now open.  The adult registration fee of $40 includes a long-sleeve performance t-shirt, souvenir bib, copy of Navajo Trail Guide and finisher’s medals. You also have a chance at overall and age-group awards (youth, masters and senior).  Online registration can be found at the NavajoYES website: www.navajoyes.org

The race window begins March 1; your ride must be completed and times submitted by the end of Sunday, March 28.

ROUTES – You may ride a route of your choice. Your route must be 10 miles of trail (singletrack or old doubletrack, wagon route, horse routes, etc).  Dirt roads and pavement are not options for this race.  There are many trails in the public-access Beclabito Community Trail System if you would like to put your 10 miles in at Beclabito.  There will not be any special race marking, support or timing services during the month. If you do choose to ride in Beclabito for your 10 miles, the most accessible trailhead is at Beclabito Baptist Church, which is just off Hwy 64, about two mile east of the Sinclair store and chapter house.

AWARDS – There will be a finisher’s medal for all participants.  There is also overall and age-group awards (youth, masters and senior), which may be plaque awards and/or dreamcatchers/native art.

WEATHER – At an elevation of 5570 feet, October in Beclabito is typically mild, with the possibility of moisture and cool-cold temps, particularly in mornings and evenings.  Expect the best, but be prepared for the rest.  When you register, you will be given a link through which you will submit your race time.  You may ride a route multiple times and can update your submitted time with an improved time throughout the period of the race window.

This the first of five races in the Tour de Rez Cup Series, which includes the following:

Hashkeniinii Bike Race – 50-mile road race; Navajo Mountain (late May)

Monument Valley Bike Race – 13-mile dirt road race; MV Navajo Tribal Park (late June)

Asaayi Bike Race – 20-mile road race; Asaayi to Narbona Pass (mid-August)

Chuska Challenge – MTB race in Chuska Mountains (late September)

As races approach, a determination will be made by race and tribal officials as to whether the events will be held live, in-person or virtual.
