The shorter mixed surface offering is making its debut as part of the Highs & Lows Tour. It’s long enough to give you a great ride experience without requiring substantial training. You’ll enjoy a climb up much of Mount Prospect Road followed by the initial gravel section of Smith Road. Not long afterwards an extended gravel section will be found on Perch Pond Road. Towards the end of Perch Pond Road, you’ll see your first covered bridge at Bumps Intervale before hitting the Hogback portion of the ride. Then you’ll move back to pavement for a while and pass over Blair Bridge – a beautiful covered bridge that crosses the Pemigewasset River. After crossing the “Pemi” you’ll head into the Campton Bog area and eventually find more gravel as you pass a beautiful pond and climb up Beach Hill. The views from the top of the hill are stunning and the descent will cool you off after your climb. From there you head to Fairgrounds Road and back into Plymouth where you’ll return to the start at Plymouth Regional High School and enjoy post ride festivities.

This ride was a favorite in last year’s inaugural mixed surface offering. You’ll enjoy a climb up much of Mount Prospect Road followed by the initial gravel section of Smith Road. Not long afterwards an extended gravel section will be found on Perch Pond Road. Towards the end of Perch Pond Road, you’ll cross over your first covered bridge at Bumps Intervale and find yourself on a Class VI Road that will take you to Beebe River. You’ll ride along the river on a well-maintained gravel logging road that is closed to private cars all the way to Sandwich Notch. This historical road, built in the early 1800s will take you down to Route 49, where you’ll head back to Campton and across your second covered bridge (Blair Bridge) and the Pemigewasset River. After crossing the “Pemi” you’ll head into the Campton Bog area and eventually find more gravel as you pass a beautiful pond and climb up Beach Hill. The views from the top of the hill are stunning and the descent will cool you off after your climb. From there you head to Fairgrounds Road and back into Plymouth where you’ll return to the start at Plymouth Regional High School and enjoy and nice well-earned lunch and enjoy the afternoon festivities.

This ride starts off with the other mixed surface rides – but it keeps going when most people have had their fill for the day. The views from the top of the hill are stunning and the descent will cool you off after your climb. From there you head to Fairgrounds Road and back into Plymouth where you’ll return to the start at Plymouth Regional High School and enjoy and well-earned lunch and a quick rest before the next big challenge. The afternoon adds just 25 more miles, but you’ll also climb another 3500 feet! From the high school you’ll climb Texas Hill to Bridgewater Hill to Poole Hill. The views are incredible and at this point you’ll really appreciate your friendly SAG vehicle friends! Make sure your legs and your bike brakes are in great shape because next you’ll be going over John Smith Hill Road to Brock Hill followed by a long descent and back up over Texas Hill Road before taking Old Hebron Road to Reservoir Road for a triumphant return back to the high school. This is an incredible ride that you won’t forget.
