A beloved community tradition, the Shamrock ’n Run welcomes about 2,000 participants each year on the third Sunday of March. This energetic event brings together families, educators, district leaders, and community partners to celebrate health, connection, and school pride.

Whether you’re a returning participant or joining us for the first time, you’ll enjoy an unforgettable day filled with running, walking, live entertainment, and community spirit. Attendees can also explore the Community EXPO, featuring over 40 vendors and sponsors showcasing local businesses and resources.

Best of all, every dollar raised directly supports PYLUSD student programs and events!

• Free pancake breakfast for all 5K/2K registrants (from 7 am to 10 am)  sponsored by Kiwanis Club of Placentia

Registration Tips

• Students (18 years and under) and Veterans will receive a $5 discount when registering for the 5K or 2K.
• Based on feedback received from previous years, the REACH Foundation is providing the amount of the tax deduction in your registration confirmation email. Please consult your tax professional for more information. The tax deduction amount will be the registration charge in excess of $20.

Donate $550, Sponsor a Team & Change Lives

You or your organization can make a meaningful impact by sponsoring a team of 20 student runners from a PYLUSD School Running Club. This sponsorship opens the door for students who may not otherwise have the opportunity to participate, ensuring access to a fun, inclusive, and healthy experience.

In addition to supporting individual students, your sponsorship helps schools launch or sustain running clubs, inspiring students to get active, train together, and build confidence. Most importantly, it encourages lifelong habits centered on teamwork, wellness, and healthy living—benefits that extend far beyond race day.

What's Happening in 2026?

Reaching New Heights and Elevating Healthy Lifestyles

• Create teams of 5 to 10 members to represent your company, office department, sports team, or class. Teams can be female, male or coed.


• Both the 5k and 2k will be timed.

• Schools earning the most points from the races will be awarded the highly coveted Shamrock Championship Perpetual Trophies and bragging rights for the winning Elementary School, Middle School, and High School!

Represent Your School!

If you are a PYLUSD student, select your school when registering. The Shamrock 'n Run Perpetual Trophy (and bragging rights!) will be awarded to the Elementary, Middle School, or High School with the most points earned from their respective participants.

Create Your Team!

Invite your friends, sports teams, co-workers, neighbors, or relatives to join your team on a healthy adventure for a great cause! There are 3 categories: female, male or coed teams. Captains can set up and coordinate the team through RunSignUp.com. Teams can be created and/or joined during or after the registration process.
