Last year, my friends spent a lot of time in the hospital while their father was sick. While it was the hardest time in their lives, we helped them however we could, but there were just some things that we weren’t able to do. That’s where Chesed 24/7 came in. They provided a Bikkur Cholim room in the hospital, where they could go have kosher food and take a break during their long days there. They gave them apartments to stay at every week in the city next to the hospital, so they were in walking distance and could spend every Shabbat wit their dad. They also sent volunteers to the hospital to spend time with them and give them moral support through difficult journey. These are just a few of the things Chesed 24/7 did, but the list goes on and on. They’re an unbelievable organization that does everything in their power to make the lives of people with a family member in the hospital easier and more bearable. Seeing all that they did for my friends, and knowing that they do this for thousands of people in hospitals all over the country, I’m in absolute awe. I saw I had an opportunity to help contribute to their amazing efforts, and that’s why I’ve decided to participate in this run, L’iluy Nishmat their father: Benyamin ben Mordechai (Benny Carmili) Z”L
On March 2nd, I’ll be participating in RUN 24.7, the exhilarating Chesed 24/7 5K Walk-Run-Raise - and I’m hoping you’ll be my sponsor. Chesed 24/7 is an incredible organization. They operate Chesed hospitality rooms that are a lifeline to patients and their loved ones. It’ll mean so much to me to have your support as I make my way through 5K of track, in the American Dream Mall.
Before you choose how much to donate, I ask you to think of someone you know who is or was in the hospital. Think of what the Chesed room means to them. With your donation, you’ll be ensuring that thousands of patients have the meals, coffee, snacks, and other essentials they count on, from Shabbos candles to Seder plates! Please join me as a I walk, run or raise. Together, we’ll Keep the Rooms Running.
