Hello! My name is Alex and I work at OU Children’s Hospital! I am doing this fundraiser race to raise money for the lung cancer research. Last year my papa was diagnosed with a rare form of lung cancer called Invasive Mucinous adenocarcinoma. After many months of fighting and treatment he unfortunately lost his battle. This cancer presents itself as pneumonia, luckily his doctors found it early enough to give him a chance to fight. When the doctors found it they set up a zoom call with several doctor around the world, to discuss treatment and what they could do to possibly cure it. Unfortunately this cancer is not curable as of right now. With lots of research, donations, and time I believe we can find a possible cure for this to hopefully save someone else’s relative. Papa wanted his story to be shared and by doing this race and sharing his story we can hopefully ease enough to save someone else from this rare cancer.
