Support me in supporting Vermont Adaptive!
This September, I am running the Vermont 50k to support Vermont Adaptive, an organization that enables youth and adults with disabilities to gain confidence and independence through participating in adaptive sports year-round. Vermont Adaptive empowers individuals with disabilities through a variety of programming at no cost to the individual, eliminating money as a barrier to entry. Anyone with any type of disability can participate in Vermont Adaptive programs.
I've always loved sports for their ability to bring together people from different backgrounds, teach important values like teamwork and perseverance, and serve as a refuge from the stresses of life. Sports and recreational activities are important for both our physical AND mental health. However, sports can also be exclusive, unaffordable, and inaccessible. Vermont Adaptive is working to change this by promoting inclusivity and offering free recreational experiences for those with disabilities. Every dollar donated here will directly support the powerful and important work they are doing.

We believe sports and recreation provide a physical, mental and social experience that is immeasurable in promoting self-confidence and independence in an individual. We offer a large variety of program opportunities and unique, specialized equipment.
Vermont Adaptive promotes independence and furthers equality through access and instruction to sports and recreational opportunities including alpine skiing, snowboarding, and other winter sports; kayaking, canoeing, paddle boarding, sailing, cycling, hiking, rock climbing, tennis, horseback riding, environmental programs, CORE Connections wellness retreats, Veterans Programs, and more.
With nearly 400 active volunteers, plus generous partners and sponsors, and an amazing base of clients and friends, Vermont Adaptive Ski & Sports has been at the forefront of sports and recreation for those with disabilities for more than 35 years.
