Dear Friends and Family,
Note: I met my goal to raise $500. I couldn’t be happier or prouder of friends and family who helped. We can keep going to raise a wee bit more before I finish the ride. ☮️💜🚴♀️
On May 3, I’m riding the LA River Century Ride as part of Finish The Ride, a community event organized by Streets Are For Everyone (SAFE). It’s a fundraiser to support SAFE’s work preventing traffic violence and making streets safer for everyone.
I’ve ridden the Finish The Ride 100km in 2024 and 2025, but this year I decided to challenge myself and go for the full 100 miles. The 100-mile route runs along the protected LA River bike path from Griffith Park to Long Beach and back, which should be equal parts fun, long, and memorable.
It also marks the return of the LA River Ride itself. The last in-person ride was in 2019, before the pandemic put it on hold, so this year’s 20th edition feels like a meaningful one to be part of.
Each rider commits to raising at least $300. My goal is $500 to help support SAFE’s work with crash victims and families, safer street advocacy, and stronger protections for people walking and biking.
If you’re able to donate, I’d be grateful for the support. Any amount helps.
With gratitude,
Scott
