I’m participating in LOWVELO26 in honor and memory of my mom.

Cancer changed our family in a way I never could have prepared for. We lost my mom to Stage 4 lung cancer, and there isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t miss her. Losing her has made the importance of cancer research incredibly personal to me.

I can’t change what happened to my mom, but I can do something in her honor. Every dollar raised through LOWVELO goes toward innovative and lifesaving cancer research at MUSC Hollings Cancer Center, helping researchers continue the work that can lead to earlier detection, better treatments, and more time for families with the people they love.

I’m doing this for my mom, for every family who has heard the words “it’s cancer,” and for the hope that one day fewer families will have to experience this kind of loss.
