Kicking it with Kaylee

Kaylee's Story
On February 1st, 2018, Kaylee's 6th birthday, she was diagnosed with a Stage 3 Wilms Tumor--a cancer affecting her left kidney. Since her diagnosis Kaylee has endured numerous surgeries and chemotherapy.

Kaylee is now 11 🥳 And she has officially reached “Survivor Status” which means she’s been cancer free for 5 years!!! We are so blessed that she fought her way to this point. She is currently on a kids kickball league and still loves to draw. This past school year Kaylee was in band (flute), cheerleading and made the basketball team.

Outside of school Kaylee keeps busy with ballet & jazz. She is also an alter server through church. This summer she received a scholarship for Art Camp through the Everson Museum. She’s on the honor roll at St Rose of Lima and will be entering 6th grade this fall. Her spunky personality and one of a kind humor will always keep you smiling. In August she will be attending her first ever sleep away camp and is so excited! She will also be auditioning for The Nutcracker again this year and hopes to get a bigger part. She doesn’t remember much of the 9 months she battled her disease but we’re glad her determination hasn’t stopped her from trying everything!
