Charlie is our awesome 5 year old dude. While we never thought we would be in the "secret world of autism", Charlie came along and we found ourselves right in middle of it. We are fortunate enough that our families and friends jumped right in after us and we are forever grateful for the love and support.
The More Than Project sees all of us, not just Charlie. Some days it feels like we are living inside a snow globe and watching the world pass by around us, watching families do things we just can't do (yet). But we are seen, and not forgotten about. The More Than Project has connected us with families just like ours, who share the same joy and challenges that come with having a family member with a disability.
I was lucky enough to attend a Mother's Day retreat weekend hosted by The More Than Project and made connections and shared moments that I will never forget.
