I am excited to participate in the 39th Annual The Ben to the Shore on Sunday, July 26, 2026, which supports the Families Behind the Badge Children's Foundation!  

When my friend and co-worker Eric Gardner, a dedicated dispatcher and first responder, passed away suddenly in February, the Families Behind the Badge Children’s Foundation stepped in without hesitation to provide immediate financial assistance to his family. What stood out most was how different FBBCF was from other organizations—they never asked for a photo op, a social media shout-out, or any form of recognition. Instead, they offered genuine compassion, heartfelt condolences, and unwavering support in every way possible.

I decided I would ride in this year’s Ben to the Shore to help raise funds for this outstanding organization—and now, here I am.

As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit serving Greater Philadelphia and South Jersey, FBBCF delivers critical financial relief to families of fallen or critically injured police officers, firefighters, and EMTs. They also foster positive connections between first responders and the children in the communities they serve, while providing vital mental and emotional wellbeing resources to those who protect us. Their compassionate, comprehensive support truly makes a lasting difference.
