Getting There

Public Transportation

We encourage you to consider taking public transportation to the ride. You can bring your bike on MetroBus and MetroTransit. Learn how here.

The nearest transit options to Spanish Lake Park include:

  • #60 MetroBus Shepley-Lilac — Serves the Bellefontaine Road & Larimore Road area. From the nearest stop, bike or walk into Spanish Lake Park and follow park roads toward O’Mara Pavilion / James O’Mara Shelter.
  • #78 MetroBus Bellefontaine — Also serves the Bellefontaine Road & Larimore Road area. From the nearest stop, bike or walk into Spanish Lake Park and follow park roads toward O’Mara Pavilion / James O’Mara Shelter.
  • Riverview Transit Center — Accessible by several MetroBus routes and a useful transfer point for riders connecting toward Spanish Lake Park. From Riverview, connect to MetroBus #60 or #78 toward the Bellefontaine/Larimore area, then bike or walk into the park.
  • North County Transit Center — Another useful transfer point for riders coming from other parts of North St. Louis County. From North County Transit Center, connect to MetroBus #60 or #78 toward Spanish Lake Park.

Riders connecting from MetroLink should use Metro’s Trip Planner or the Transit app to confirm the best route from their starting station. Depending on your starting point, your trip may include a transfer through Riverview Transit Center, North County Transit Center, or another MetroBus connection.

Please allow extra time for transfers and for the final connection from the bus stop into Spanish Lake Park.

Driving

Parking

Primary parking is available near O’Mara Shelter. Once the O’Mara area is full, riders are encouraged to use additional parking just south near Catfish Pavilion.

If needed, overflow parking is also available around the East side of the lake, near Manny Broadway Pavilion.

Please follow Trailnet signage and volunteer directions when you arrive. Plan to arrive early, drive slowly inside the park, and be mindful of other park users, riders, pedestrians, and volunteers.
