"UNITED BY SERVICE, BOUND BY VALOR."
VALOR 22 is hosted by the NAU Cadet Axe Organization, with support from NAU ROTC.
13 SEPTEMBER 2025 will be a day of commemoration of the fallen during 9/11 and awareness of Veteran Suicide Prevention, PTSD, and TBI Awareness of all Service members that serve the United States in various uniforms.
Consisting of a 1K walk/fun run, 5K competitive run on NAU campus, a 22K competitive trail run in the Coconino National Forest, and a 22K weighted ruck march also through the Coconino National Forest. Local and non-local vendors will be setup in various locations including the SKYDOME and adjacent parking lot.
CHILDCARE: PROVIDED BY FORESIGHT LEARNING CENTER AT THE NAU SKYDOME OR THE OUTDOOR FOOTBALL FIELD ADJACENT TO THE START POINT, WEATHER DEPENDANT. AZNG WILL BE BRINGING A BLOW UP OBSTACLE COURSE AND OTHER THINGS TO KEEP KIDS ENGAGED. MORE INFORMATION UPON THE DAY OF THE RACE FOR CHILD REGISTRATION.

1K: Raffle ticket, commemorative nalgene bottle, coupons, FOOD!
5K: Same as 1K plus commemorative medallion for male and female participants placing with 1st, 2nd, 3rd place finishes respectively.
22K RUN: Same as 1K plus "BIGGER" commemorative medallion for male and female participants placing with 1st, 2nd, 3rd place finishes respectively.
22K RUCK: Same as 1K plus commemorative belt buckle for all finishers with special buckles for male and female participants placing with 1st, 2nd, 3rd place finishes respectively.

0600-0700: Parking, check-in
0630: Ruck check for 22K Ruck competitors
0700-0730: VALOR 22 official ceremony. 9/11 tribute, rappelling demonstration, bugler
0730-0750: Move to and stage at NAU Football practice field
0750: 22K RUN/RUCK Safety Brief from event staff
0800: 22K RUN begins
0810: 22K RUCK begins
0820: 5K RUN begins
0830: 1K begins
~0845: 5K Award Ceremony (SKYDOME)

PACKET PICK UP- Race packets can be picked up at the NAU Army ROTC building located at 1415 S. San Francisco St, Flagstaff, AZ from 8-11 September during normal business hours. Packets will move to Run Flagstaff for pickup on the 12th of September from 12-6PM. Race day pickup will be from 0600-0645 in the SKYDOME.

RECOGNIZE EFFORTS OF ALL FIRST RESPONDERS (Police, Fire, EMS)
RECOGNIZE EFFORTS OF ALL ACTIVE DUTY/RETIRED VETERANS IN ALL BRANCHES
SPREAD AWARENESS AND SERVICES RELATED TO VETERAN SUICIDE, TBI, AND PTSD

ROTC CADETS
ROTC Cadets and cadre are welcome to attend and compete in VALOR 22.
Competitors seeking billeting options are encouraged to coordinate with AZNG Camp Navajo @ 602-418-1511. NAU Army ROTC does not have the resources to provide logistical support for external organizations. As an alternate option, a limited number of cadets can bivouac in the Army ROTC building on Campus and outside on observatory field. There are latrines and one shower inside. There will also be latrines/showers available in the NAU Skydome.
