Join us on Saturday, May 17th, for Healing Hearts: Walk/Run/MOVE! for Suicide Prevention, a powerful day of movement, community, and collective care benefiting Crisis Support Services of Alameda County. Whether you walk, run, roll, or dance, every action you take supports life-saving suicide prevention services in our community.

9:30 AM: 5K around Lake Merritt starts in 2 waves - Racers and Walkers
9:35 AM: Tai Chi and Qi Gong with Master Sheldon
10:05 AM: Trauma Informed Yoga with Marsha Rosenblatt
10:40 AM: Dance Party and Closing

💜 WHY WE MOVE
Every dollar raised goes directly to Crisis Support Services of Alameda County, providing free, 24/7 crisis support, suicide prevention, and mental health services to those in need. By signing up, fundraising, or donating, you’re ensuring that no one has to struggle alone. Our event reduces the stigma associated with depression and living with mental health challenges, educates the community about local resources and services, supports suicide prevention programs. We are providing a healing space for people who have lost loved ones to suicide and people who are currently living with suicidal experiences.
Our vision is to bring the community together and celebrate healing through a diversity of movement activities. Members of our community will lead various kinds of movement including Tai Chi, dance, as well some exciting other movement activities. All physical abilities are welcome. Building community is most important to us. That is why sign up is free with a suggested donation of $35. We are most excited about you getting your friends and family involved!

Getting to the Event
The Edoff Memorial Bandstand is located in Lakeside Park, Oakland, CA off of Bellevue Avenue. It is just past Children’s Fairyland, and opposite from the Lakeside Lawn Bowling Courts, home of the Lakeside Lawn Bowling Club, and the Garden Center at 666 Bellevue Avenue.
Paid parking is available on Bellevue Avenue. There is free parking available nearby on Grand Avenue and nearby. The area is served by AC Transit lines 11, 12 and NL on weekends. The nearest stop on line 11 is on Harrison Street at Grand Avenue. Line 12 stops on Grand Avenue at Bellevue Avenue, and line NL on Grand Avenue at Perkins Street. The nearest BART station is 19th Street, just under one mile away. Transit planning is available at Transit 511. You may also dial 511 for this information
