Frequently Asked Questions

Q - What is the minimum age to register for each event?
A-  Although there is no "standard" age at which a runner should get involved in the sport of running, we recommend runners be at least age 12 for the Half Marathon and 10k, and 10 years old for the 5K Fun Run. Ultimately, it is up to each parent or guardian to adjust our recommended age, higher or lower, depending upon their dependent's ability to participate in our event.

Q - Are dogs allowed on the run courses?
A - No. Pets, wagons, rollerblades, skateboards, scooters or bicycles of any kind are NOT allowed on the course for safety concerns.

Q - Are baby strollers allowed?
A - Yes, you are allowed to run with a stroller.  All strollers are required to start at the back of the pack, regardless of your speed.  

Q - Will there be race day registration?
A - There will be no race day registration.

Q - Will there be race day packet pickup available?
A - Yes. Starting one hour prior to the event.

Q - Will there be a bag drop off at the event?
A - Yes for the run events only. UPS trucks will be available at the starting line to collect your personal belongings and make them available for you to pick-up near the finish line.

Q - Is this half-marathon certified?
A - Yes, the California Classic Half Marathon is a USATF certified course.

Q - Can I run with an iPod/headphones?
A - Yes. USATF, the national governing body of the sport, recently amended its ban on headphones, iPods and similar devices. It is recommended that athletes keep only one ear bud in to be able to hear directions from race officials or emergency vehicles.

Q - How does the 10k work?
A - All 10k runners will be bused to the Chaffee Zoo where they will start the 10k.  Runners will finish at Chukchansi Stadium.

Q - What is the time limits for the Run & Bike events?
A - The run events have a 4 hour limit our finish-line closes at 11:00am.  Our bike event BBQ, Beer Garden and finish-line closes at 4pm. 

Q - Are Ebikes allowed on any of the bike courses?
A - Ebikes or any electric powered bike are not permitted on any bike courses. They will not be permitted to enter the Freeway per Cal-Trans or Highway Patrol.
