Atlanta’s Journey for Civil Rights: A Guided Bicycle Tour

Bicycle Tours of Atlanta, in partnership with Indivisible Cobb, invites you to join a unique and inspiring fundraiser benefitting the ACLU. Experience Atlanta’s Journey for Civil Rights, a powerful bike tour that brings to life the stories, struggles, and triumphs that shaped our city and nation — and continue to resonate today.

As we navigate city streets and hidden corners of history, we’ll connect the dots from the Antebellum South through Reconstruction, the Jim Crow era, and into the Civil Rights Movement of the 20th century — with clear ties to today’s ongoing fight for justice.

This tour offers more than a history lesson — it’s a moving, immersive experience designed to spark awareness, conversation, and a renewed commitment to equity and activism. Together, we’ll follow in the footsteps of those who made “Good Trouble” — and be inspired to carry their legacy forward.

Highlights include:

Reynoldstown, one of Atlanta’s first post-Emancipation Black communities
The Historic Sweet Auburn District and Ebenezer Baptist Church
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s birth and burial sites
Oakland Cemetery, including monuments and untold stories
The 1906 Atlanta Race Massacre site
The Georgia State Capitol and the statue of Dr. King
Street art, murals, and sculptures speaking to modern movements for justice
Whether you’re a local or a visitor, this tour offers a safe, inclusive space to learn, reflect, and take action. Proceeds support the vital work of the ACLU as they defend civil liberties and advocate for social justice nationwide.
