The fundraising arm of Benewah Community Hospital, the BetterCARE, Inc. Foundation, does exactly what its title suggests — it helps to provide better care for our patients. It does so by raising money to purchase equipment, supplies, and other items for the hospital.

Must recently in 2024 and 2025 BetterCARE has been able to support the hospital and its patients through the purchase of gas cards, BetterCARE Bears for pediatrics patients, a blanket warmer for the speciality clinic, care kits for patients in need, glide scope for ER, a beach chair for surgical patients and more. 

BetterCARE, Inc. was established in 1984 by a group of hospital employees, physicians, and local residents interested in improving the capital resources of the hospital. In 2009, the group became recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as an official tax-deductible charity, becoming a 501(c)(3).

Funds that the foundation has raised over the past 30 years have been used for surgical equipment, furniture, and other comfort items in patient rooms, monitor equipment, and renovation projects to accommodate our growing healthcare community.

Private contributions are welcome and come in many forms, including memorial donations and estate property. Any gift to Benewah Community Hospital made through BetterCARE, Inc. is tax-deductible. By making a donation to our foundation, you can have a meaningful impact of the lives of others and help build a solid foundation of financial support that enables the hospital to strengthen its medical programs, upgrade its facility, and acquire new equipment and technologies to keep pace with advances in medicine.
