Shorewood HUGS is a nonprofit women's organization that works to make a positive impact in the lives of those in the community & surrounding communities, one hug at a time. We do this by hosting unique events & raising funds to fulfill wishes for those in need. We also fund several HUGS scholarships and support other local, non-profit organizations whenever possible. Founded in 2008 by 5 moms that wanted to give back to their community, we have grown into an organization of 50 women with a passion for helping others. As of June 2025, we’re proud to share that we’ve fulfilled over 1,300 wishes and given back more than $1 million through a combination of wishes, scholarships, and support for other local nonprofits. Our wish recipients live within a 20-mile radius of Shorewood and are individuals in need, living with disabilities, or especially deserving of a wish. None of this would be possible without the incredible support of our local community over the past 17 years.
