Run Iron Mountain was founded on a simple promise: this race will always give back to the people who make our community home. For the past thirteen years, proceeds from the event have supported local families during some of their most difficult moments. Together, we have raised over $200,000 for local charities.

For many of those years, our primary beneficiaries have been the Dickinson County Cancer Loan Closet (DCCLC) and Northwoods AirLifeline. The DCCLC is a volunteer-run nonprofit that provides free medical equipment and financial assistance to both cancer and non-cancer patients. Northwoods AirLifeline provides vital medical air transportation at no cost to families in the Upper Peninsula and Northeast Wisconsin, with volunteer pilots flying more than 2,000 missions since 1989.

This past year, our board chose to direct over $10,000 of race proceeds specifically to Northwoods AirLifeline to support their ongoing life-saving flights. Their work is a lifeline for families who need medical care that cannot be found locally.
