The Mission of BiG
Brookwood in Georgetown (BiG) exists to provide a God-centered, innovative vocational and residential community for adults with disabilities—and to change the way the world views this population.
The Challenge
For children with special needs, the public education system provides training, support, and opportunities to grow. But when these children graduate from high school, that structure disappears. Too often, adults with disabilities are left without purpose or place to continue learning, working, and contributing. Skills that took years to develop may fade, and many face isolation, regression, and even depression.
In Texas alone, more than 1.1 million people live with an intellectual or functional disability. The need is real, urgent, and close to home.
The BiG Difference
At BiG, we believe every individual has God-given gifts and talents to share. That’s why we provide meaningful vocational opportunities for our Citizens—adults with challenges such as autism, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, epilepsy, brain injury, and other differences that impact independent living.
Our Citizens work in enterprises specifically designed for both adaptability and marketability. With the support of dedicated supervisors, every Citizen can experience the dignity of completing meaningful work in an environment that celebrates their abilities.
Beyond Work – A Thriving Community
BiG also operates an award-winning retail shop and café, where the community can experience and support the talents of our Citizens firsthand. Every product, every interaction, every purchase shares a story of hope, purpose, and belonging.
Why Your Gift Matters
The proceeds from your donation go directly to the BiG Fund, helping us provide a rich, memorable, and fulfilling experience for our Citizens. Your support sustains our excellence, fuels our growth, and ensures that adults with disabilities are not overlooked, but instead celebrated for the gifts they bring to the world.
Together, we can change lives—and change the way the world views this population.
