2026 REGISTRATION POLICY / REFUND POLICY / SAFETY REGULATIONS

We can’t wait to welcome you to the Great Race! We know you're looking forward to it—we are, too!

While we’re working hard to produce a safe, smooth, and spectacular event, we may need to adjust certain elements to comply with federal, state, county, or city guidelines. This could include changes to course routes, start times, or aid stations. In rare cases, events beyond our control could lead to postponement or cancellation.

Please note: Like most running events, all entry fees are non-refundable. Planning an event of this scale requires early commitments to vendors, venues, permits, staffing, and supplies—many of which are secured well in advance based on expected participation. Your registration helps us plan and pay for these services and materials ahead of time.

In full transparency, here are some additional details regarding our registration policies:

• Entry fees are tiered. The earlier you sign up, the lower the entry fee. Entry fees increase approximately every month in the months prior to the race. The highest entry fees are at the Race Expo and Race Day, if available, for races that are not sold out.

• The Great Race offers flexible options with the opportunity to purchase registration protection with entry, switch distances, transfer to another person, defer, or move to the virtual event, if transacted within posted deadlines and guidelines. When you register for this event you are making a non-refundable purchasing decision and must agree to this policy. This policy stays in effect whether you are injured, have an unexpected business or family emergency, illness, pregnancy, etc. Once you register, unrecoverable race course services and items are paid for, for you, as if you will be attending the event.

• You can switch distances up until the deadline posted. You will pay the difference if the new entry fee is more than you previously paid. If the new entry fee is less than you paid, there is no refund of the difference.

• You may transfer your entry to another individual after the transferee pays a transfer fee.

• You can defer your registration to next year's race. There is a deferment fee. The last day to defer your entry to 2027 is April 3, 2026.

• If you are unable to attend you are welcome to move your entry to the virtual event at no additional cost.

• You may not participate until you sign your own waiver. If someone else registers for you, you still must sign your waiver. Save time at Packet Pick Up and agree to your waiver online.

• We reserve the right to postpone or cancel the event due to events out of our control such as a natural disaster, severe weather, emergency or public health emergency. No refunds will be issued under these circumstances. If there is a cancellation due to one of these circumstances, your registration will automatically be transferred to the virtual event. We may also alter the courses and distances at any time if required due to course blockages, other restrictions or impediments.

• Please enter your email address carefully on your registration and make sure it is valid. This is necessary to receive your confirmation email and important race instructions.

• No dogs or other animals are allowed at the event or on the course.

• Running strollers are OK, but at the start, you must line up at the back of the pack. No other wheels are allowed on the course: no skates, no bikes, no skateboards, no electric scooters, etc.

• Entrants need to be responsible, alert and aware of their surroundings when they run. Running with headphones during the race is extremely dangerous. Most roads on the race routes are partially closed but not completely closed to vehicle traffic. Racers need to be able to easily hear vehicle traffic, emergency vehicles as well as instructions on the course from the police, traffic control or race course officials as well as be able to hear other runners.

• Your registration barcode or government-issued photo ID is required to pick up your goods. You must pick up your race bib, shirt and goodie bag at Packet Pick Up before the race, pay for mail out service, or pay for race day pick up. We HIGHLY recommend picking up before race day.

We hope you understand and appreciate these policies. They’re in place to keep the event safe, fair, and enjoyable for everyone.

If you don’t agree with these terms, we completely understand if you decide not to register.

By registering, you confirm that you have read and agreed to this policy.
