Glühwein Gallop 5k!
Join the wintertime fun on December 20 at 9:00am for the 5th annual Glühwein Gallop 5k! This festive run/walk is open to ALL AGES and takes place during the Carmel Christkindlmarkt festivities!
Highlights include soft-style shirts*, finisher medals, a complimentary drink, and post-race refreshments! For our faster competitors, we also offer overall/age-group awards!
The Glühwein Gallop 5k draws its name from the German word Glühwein (pronounced 'glue vine', and translated to "glow wine"). This delicious mulled wine is served warm in lots of different flavors!

Epic Costume Contest
Get into the holiday spirit and wear your most festive outfits! At the end of the event, awards will be given for our favorite costumes!
Participants are encouraged to go overboard, so put together the best costume you can!
Post-Race Party
After you cross the finish, those 21+ can redeem their bib tear-off tag for one (1) complimentary serving of Glühwein or beer! This must be redeemed within the festival, immediately after finishing the 5k.
NEW for 2025, we are excited to offer Kinderpunsch, a tasty, non-alcoholic drink. Other non-alcoholic options are also available.
Course Info
This beautiful 5k course will start/finish at the Carmel Christkindlmarkt, traveling on the Monon Trail and past the shops along Main Street and Rangeline Road.
Once you finish, you'll be at the market, which opens at 12:00 p.m.
We love our four-legged friends, but for everyone's safety, dogs are not allowed on the course. Thank you.
