Description

Grab your strongest friends and team up for the ultimate tug of war challenge!

Teams of 6 will compete for time as they pull a fully loaded 20-ton fire truck down Academy Street in downtown Newark.

 

Prizes will be awarded to the fastest all male, all female and co-ed teams.

All proceeds benefit Aetna Hose, Hook & Ladder Company, a fire and EMS company that’s served the greater Newark community for 135 years.

They’ve had our backs for decades -- now it’s time for us to return the favor.

How Do I Register A Team?

Steps to creating a team.

1. Team Captain will register themselves first and pay the $249 donation fee.

* Team members can reimburse the captain back.

2. Team Captain will create a team name and password during registration.

3. Team Captain will have their teammates sign up under the team name and use the password to sign up at no cost.

Team Details

All Male Division

- Must have a min of 4 team members to compete with a max number of 6 members.

All Female Division

- Must have a min of 4 team members to compete with a max number of 6 members.

Coed Division

- Must have a min of 2 females and 2 males on the team with a max number of 6 members

 

*WE RECOMMEND ALL TEAM MEMBERS BRING A PAIR OF GLOVES TO WEAR.  THEY WILL NOT BE PROVIDED!

Day of Events

Registration for all teams begins at 1PM.

Team Captain must check in between 1PM - 2PM.

Truck pull starts at 2PM. 

Line Up will be announced as we get closer to the event.

All Tug-A-Truck participants will receive

  • Event T-Shirt

  • Drink Ticket for the Beer Garden

Awards and Prizes

The team with the fastest pulling time will be declared the winner.

Slow Bike Race Details

Check in starts at 11:00AM

Bike Races start at 12:00PM

Categories: Children 8 and Under, Children 16 and Under, Men 16+, Women 16+

Prizes for the slowest biker in each category.

 

Rules:

1. Riders must stay in their lane and cannot go backwards. 

2. Riders cannot touch the ground with their feet. 

3. Riders must wear helmets and ride a normal 2- wheel bicycle. 

4. Any rider who goes backward, rides out of the lane or touches the ground is disqualified. 

5. Last one across the finish line is declared the winner of the heat. 

 

Beer Garden and Food Tent

AETNA will be setting up a beer garden and food tent on Academy St.

All proceeds will be donated to AETNA.
