& Naval Diving and Salvage Training Center (NDSTC)
Downtown Panama City, FL
Get ready to lace up and dive into history with the Copper Collar 5K, a legendary race that’s been making waves since 1982! Originally launched by the Naval Diving and Salvage Training Center, this iconic event has been run through the Navy base and the scenic trails of St. Andrews State Park for decades.
Now, for the first time ever, We’re bringing the race to the heart of downtown Panama City, giving runners a chance to experience the energy of the city while honoring the deep-sea diving legacy that inspired it all.
Nicknamed “The Original Heavy Metal 5K”, the Copper Collar pays tribute to the iconic copper diving helmets worn by Military divers—symbols of strength, endurance, and tradition. Whether you're a seasoned runner, a military supporter, or just looking for a fun and meaningful way to get active, this race is for you.
